Biography

Andrew McLean aka Drew started his drumming career at the age of eleven inspired by seeing a photograph of his older brother playing the drums at a Steelband show. He spent hours scrolling through videos of accomplished drummers learning various techniques which enabled him to develop his own, unique style.

Andrew is known as the drumming multi-instrumentalist. Along with his passion for drums, he also plays the piano and bass guitar which has led him to hone his craft as a great music producer. To download some of his play along drum tracks, please visit the shop tab above.

He has had the pleasure of playing in major venues: Hollywood Bowl, Main stage Glastonbury, Love Box, Sydney Enmore, and Wembley Arena just to name a few. Andrew is also the drummer for Grace Jones and has been touring globally with her since 2007. Whilst not touring he also uses his expertise to teach other aspiring drummers. He is DBS qualified and teaches part-time at two secondary schools where his animated, fun approach to drums gains results, so you can expect to learn with a smile on your face!!
